Neverland Card Battles Coming Soon!

The second retail game I've worked on is coming to the PSP in a couple of months, called 'Neverland Card Battles', an anime-style strategy/card game. You can find more information on it on the teaser website at www.neverlandcardbattles.com. The official game trailer (which I put together) and official website will be coming really soon.

Double D Dodgeball Announced

Yesterday Double D Dodgeball was announced, the first retail game I've worked on. It's coming out sometime this summer for Xbox Live Arcade.

I learned a lot about development, production, marketing, PR, video editing, and the overall process of console game development during the course of this project, and I'm incredibly glad I've had this opportunity to have helped contribute to the development of this game.

Anyway, if you have an Xbox 360, please check out the demo once the game is released, and click the logo above if you're curious and want some more information on it.

New job, Nanowrimo, and a few minor additions.

A few weeks ago I started working as Lead Game Designer for Yuke's Company of America, and the experience has been great so far, but my association with them will probably end up affecting this site in subtle ways.

Web games I've worked on that they may be interested I may put aside so they can be put forward as a possible console project in the future.

Also, I decided to add a light advert for their most recent published game at the bottom of all my web pages, since the more our games sell the more stable my job is and the more resources they'll be able to put into the games I develop.

Besides that, I also brought back the link to the high scores list for the games on here, and I also added Proximity HD to the games gallery on the main page, now that this news item will knock the previous one off the home page.

In personal news, I participated for the 3rd time in Nanowrimo this year, and because of all the craziness in transitioning from my old job to my new one, I wasn't able to write a full 50,000 words this month, but I did manage 34,000. So you may see an excerpt from that posted on here at some point in the future, for those that are interested.

Next on the list is to add groups for the content on the site, so I can start adding game documents and other junk I've been wanting to throw on here for quite some time. Life has been pretty busy lately, so it might be awhile.

Website Redesigned, and XNA Competition.

The website has now been cleaned up. These pages are now as void of junk as possible, only showing the information most people would care about, thus making my homepage a better candidate for this social networking linkage than other websites that happen to have my game on them, and makes the site less confusing, as well. It also happens to load quicker, due to a few tweaks on the server side.

A few features are still not implemented in the new design (high scores, printer friendly views, etc), which should be taken care of within a few weeks.

In other news, earlier this week I submitted a polished demo of Proximity HD (Proximity sequel, in a beautiful 720p), to Microsoft's Dream Build Play competition. If I win that, I'll be able to publish the game through XBox Live Arcade, so hopefully things will work out there. Even if it doesn't win, I'll start hunting for some companies that might be interested in publishing it. It's a lot of fun to play this with 4 players on the Xbox 360, hopefully you will be able to do so as well by this time next year!

Next up on my plate is to get Arrows Away finished and out there. It's been sitting around long enough. I'll probably get it out by the end of August at the latest.

Too much information.

I realized there's just too much text on this website. It's not focused, and most people don't care about all this extra junk, especially people who would like a nice, clean place to link to the games so they're not distracted by all this extra text on the side.

So I've got a couple ideas on how to improve the design, and I'm going to hopefully get this cleaned up over the course of the next month. Well, hopefully by next month. I've got XBLA competition for Microsoft that's taking up a lot of my time right now, also. And I'd still like to retool some of my games for WiiCade when I get the chance. And add high score support for more games. Plus a billion other things.
